Why Every SurePay Rider Goes Through Verification

SurePay TeamJanuary 18, 20264 min read

Anyone with a motorcycle can claim to be a delivery rider. But should anyone with a motorcycle have access to your home address and your purchases? SurePay's answer is no. Every rider in our network goes through a multi-step verification process before they can accept their first delivery.

The process starts with identity validation. We require a valid government-issued ID—national ID card, driver's license, or international passport. We verify the document is genuine and matches the person's stated identity. This alone filters out anonymous actors who have something to hide.

Guarantor Verification

Next comes guarantor verification. Every SurePay rider must provide a guarantor who can confirm their address and vouch for their character. We contact the guarantor directly and verify their relationship to the rider. This creates a social accountability layer—riders know that someone in their community has put their reputation on the line.

Background Checks

Finally, we run a background check to surface any criminal history or patterns of fraudulent activity. This isn't about perfection—people make mistakes and deserve second chances—but it does help us identify red flags that suggest a pattern of dishonesty. Combined with the guarantor verification, it gives us confidence that the rider entering your neighborhood is who they say they are.

For riders, this verification process is an asset. It gives them professional credibility. When vendors and buyers see that a rider has been verified, they trust them more. That trust translates into better tips, more deliveries, and a sustainable income. Verification isn't a burden—it's a competitive advantage.
